Last month Cami and Matt tied the knot on the most gorgeous spring day at Boone Hall!

This was my first time photographing a wedding at the Cotton Dock, so I was super stoked to spend the day at such a beautiful venue with people that were even more beautiful, inside and out. Their decor was just stunning — lush greenery, overflowing florals, and a show-stopping lounge area. Their ceremony was heartfelt, with a few interruptions by boaters (and dogs) floating by on the river, but hey, all a part of making memories right? I couldn’t wait to take their wedding day portraits, because if you recall, their engagement session was seriously just drop dead gorgeous! Their authentic love for each other was the perfect compliment to the beautiful sunset we all witnessed that night. I’m also pretty sure that they win the award for the best cake smash to date. To finish off the night with a bang, they had DJ Wade filling the dance floor with his sick beats — side note, he was my wedding DJ, and is seriously the best in the business. A sincere thank you to Cami and Matt for having me document your spectacular wedding day!

Man, talk about a breath of fresh air.

I first met Jenna back in 2014 when I was shopping for my wedding dress. She was the consultant at Gown Boutique of Charleston that helped me find my dream dress, so when she contacted me to photograph her wedding, I was stoked. My first thought was, well, this girl has seen me naked. Cool. My second thought was, I am so honored that she has chosen me out of all of the photographers in Charleston. On a side note, I’ve gotten a sneak peak of Jenna’s dress, and DANG she’s going to be one heck of a stunner on her wedding day.

When Jenna isn’t helping brides find their dream dress, she’s loving on her awesome fiancé Luke, who is a landscaper with a crazy green thumb. Their back yard oasis is insane. Luke has a passion for growing plants and vegetables, and I’m definitely going to get him to come save the pathetic shrubbery in Jordan and I’s front yard. And when Jenna isn’t loving on Luke, she’s loving on her beautiful horse, Lucky. She trains him and shows him in horse shows and competitions around the country. Lucky definitely stole the show during their engagement session, but let’s face it, we all expected that from him 🙂

Jenna and Luke wanted their engagement photos to be a true reflection of their lifestyle, and dang was it good. I met up with them at their house, which doubles as a barn for Lucky. We utilized the land around their house for their shoot. It was just so relaxed and organic, and no one was trying to make it something that it wasn’t. I kept telling them over and over that they were a breath of fresh air, because they weren’t basing their shoot off of anyone else’s, they were staying true to who they were.

So I know I’m not supposed to choose “favorites” when it comes to couples, just like you’re not supposed to have a favorite child, but dang it I can’t help it when it comes to Lindsay and Dustin. Since the moment I met them for drinks at Taco Boy back in February of 2015, I just knew that their wedding day would be unforgettable. They are two of the most thoughtful, intelligent, goofy, and incredible people. Their wedding day happened to fall on Jordan and I’s six month wedding anniversary, and they gave me a gift on their own wedding day! Who does that?! Lindsay and Dustin, that’s who. They opted to do a first look instead of a traditional aisle reveal, and man, Dustin cried like a baby and it was magical. I’m just downright swooning over their portraits, and I think you’ll see why once you scroll through this post. Thank you, Lindsay and Dustin, for welcoming me into your lives and letting me capture such a wonderfully perfect day.

  • Melissa Cox - Hi!

The pictures are beautiful!! Is there a way you could find out where the groom got his suit? Was it a rental or a purchase and where I can find it?? Would be perfect for my brother’s wedding. Thanks so much!!

  • sarabeephotography@gmail.com - Hi Melissa! The Groom got his suit from Jos. A Bank. Not sure if it was a rental or purchase though. Hope this helps!
