About Sara

Hello world, I’m Sara Boyd.

“Bee”  is nowhere in my name, I made it up several years ago and the name has stuck!

On a day-to-day basis, I’m a quirky freckle-face with more pajamas in my wardrobe than publicly acceptable clothing. I became a Mrs. last November to Jordan (who is equally as weird as yours truly) but his job requires him to get out of his pajamas on a daily basis. Together we have a 2-year old fur baby named Cooper who amuses us with her rotten antics and never-ending appetite for inedible fabric toys.

And in case you want to know more…
LOVE // husband (duh), coffee, wine, rescue dogs, buffalo chicken pizza, rose gold things, fuzzy blankets, the poop emoji, elastic waistbands
NOT A FAN // lettuce on sandwiches, heights & sweaty palms, talking on the phone, people that “don’t” fart, my hip that dislocates, well-done steak

I’m often asked how I got into photography and specifically weddings, and I don’t really know that I have a clear answer. When I was younger, I went through crappy point-and-shoot cameras like it was my job (one accidentally drowned in a glass of chocolate milk). When life got to the point that it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies anymore, I utilized photography as an outlet for stress relief. In middle school I was that kid on the yearbook team. In high school I was that kid leading the photography club. It wasn’t until college that the lightbulb dinged and I realized that I could make this passion of mine into a career. In 2012 I launched Sara Bee Photography and have been loving the unpredictable path it has led me down.
