Dogs and Brides are two of my favorite things. So, therefore, this shoot is one of my favorite things.
On this day in particular, it had JUST rained. So, the sky had a beautiful post-storm hue, and the bride sported some awesome furry boots under that gorgeous dress. It was quite the classy sight 😉 Lee is one my fiancé’s cousins, so we utilized the family land for this shoot. Thank God for pond reflections, old red gates, and fields of flowers. The natural beauty of the family land just blows my mind overtime I shoot on it. Add a bride in the mix, and it gains a hundred beauty points. Enjoy!
I feel like there is a story behind every shoot, and this one was no different.
Olivia is my fiancé’s cousin, so I’ve gotten to know her and love her over the past four years. She’s SO full of energy, love, charisma, inappropriate jokes, and smiles. A couple of years ago Jon came into the picture, and now they’re getting married! Jon is a quieter soul, but definitely complements Olivia’s persona perfectly. Together they are madly in love. Next June they will be getting married on Olivia’s family farm, surrounded by their loved ones, animals, and no shoes. You heard me right, they’re having a country wedding, complete with no shoes, and I get to be a bridesmaid! I can’t wait to help them celebrate their marriage and enjoy a good ol’ southern wedding.
Doing this shoot was a whole other story. Not everyone jumps in front of the camera ready to be a model, and these two definitely took a minute or so to warm up to being in the spotlight. (Hence why the ring shots are first 😉 ) As I tried to get them to fall into poses naturally, they ended up breaking into laughter or weird faces, which I eventually realized was a true reflection of their personalities, and that this wouldn’t be a normal swoon worthy shoot for me, which is more than okay! My goal is always to accurately portray the love shared between two people, and Olivia and Jon have a whole different way to showing their love than most. So without further ado, enjoy the silly faces that follow, and enjoy a little break from the normal engagement shoot.
