When I say that Abra and Dan are the sweetest people on this planet, I mean they are the SWEETEST people on this planet.
On a very rainy day in May, they tied the knot at the Magnolia Plantation Carriage House. The wedding was originally supposed to be held at the Veranda House, but alas the weather required last minute arrangements to be made. Luckily, their wedding was on a Tuesday so the other venues on the Plantation were available.
Although the rain kept the wedding from going as originally planned, the love these two have for each other made everything okay. Their children, Cade and Laya, provided endless comic relief (as you’ll see in the photos below), and the wonderful team at Sparkles transformed the Carriage House into a beautiful space fit for two beautiful people.
The day itself was a tear jerker. Cade walked his mom down the aisle, Dan could barely contain his tears when he saw his bride, Abra shared a Mother-Son dance with Cade, Dan shared a Father-Daughter dance with Laya. Just watching Cade and Laya’s faces during the ceremony was enough to make you cry your eyes out. They were both so incredibly happy to have their mom marrying the man they all loved.
Back to Abra and Dan being the absolute SWEETEST people. I mean it 100%. They were both endlessly gracious to everyone involved with the wedding, and they didn’t let the weather get them down. They were troopers and rode around on a golf cart after the ceremony to capture some absolutely stunning portraits. By the Grace of God, the rain let up during their portraits and we were able to really capture the beauty of Magnolia Plantation, without umbrellas.
To Abra and Dan, thank you, seriously, from the bottom of my heart for letting me into your lives, and for letting me (and my sidekick Caroline) take part in the most perfect day. It may have rained for hours on end, but you didn’t let that wash away the love you have for each other, and for that I truly thank you and commend you.
Abra, you are the most stunning bride there ever was. Dan, you are the most kindhearted groom there ever was. Together, you’re unbreakable. I love you guys!

I think the apocalypse could have taken place and Adie, the bride, would still be in high spirits. Seriously, this girl is indestructible. It was pouring, the grass was mushy, and she was a trooper. We danced in the rain, took hilarious portraits, and didn’t let anything stop the party.
And then there’s Stefano. A quiet soul who complements Adie’s spirit so perfectly. Together, they could conquer the world. They met in culinary school, and together they make the world’s most delicious fare. (I’ve actually never eaten their food, I’m just assuming that they are the best at everything…because they rock at everything I’ve seen them do thus far)
They had such a unique wedding, complete with a high five right after the first kiss. Instead of a traditional DJ, they hired their favorite rapper/musician to not only DJ the wedding, but to perform as well (picture evidence below). Beyond the essential wedding details, they kept it simple, and focused solely on the things that mattered the most to them…which in my opinion is how it should be.
Last month I had the privilege of photographing Corey and Jacob’s wedding at Magnolia Plantation. After getting lost during the first hour trying to find the bamboo forest, it went off without a hitch!
I absolutely loved getting to know their wonderful families. Their love for each other is undeniable and I felt so welcomed.
Their sense of humor and their constant giggling made me full of joy as I captured their big day.
